About Us

The Ansonborough Inn was built as a three-story stationer’s warehouse circa 1901, and originally designed as individual condominium units. That’s why, at 450 to 750 square feet, our rooms feel more vast and spacious than most stays. This means more room for you to relax and unwind, while soaking up what the area has to offer.

Today’s fully renovated Ansonborough Inn has been transformed into one of the historic district’s true gems. Outfitted with exposed heart pine beams, local fire red brick, historic antiques and reproductions, and a vast collection of original oil paintings, the hotel’s storied past echoes throughout—balancing historic charm with modern amenities.

For its renovation efforts and continued excellence, the inn received the Charleston Chamber of Commerce’s Enhancement Award for property beautification, as well as the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award every year since 2011.
